Simon also provided a forward-looking perspective on the future of AI in media, emphasizing the potential for even greater innovation and efficiency.


Kirsten Cosser: The Role of AI in Fact-Checking

Following Simon, Kirsten Cosser, a researcher at Africa Check, presented her findings on the critical importance of fact-checking in the digital age. Kirsten highlighted the challenges posed by misinformation and the pivotal role AI tools play in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of information. Her presentation underscored the necessity of trustworthy media content and how AI can be a powerful ally in achieving this goal.


Panel Discussion and Audience Q&A

The webinar then transitioned into a dynamic panel discussion, featuring Paula Slier, a media expert and owner of Newshound Media and BRICS Global Television Network. Paula joined Simon and Kirsten to provide insights from a media industry perspective.
